23 June, 2014 | By Steve Ford
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has announced that chief nurse Adrian Childs has been appointed as its new deputy chief executive.
He will deputise across the full range of chief executive duties on behalf of Dr Peter Miller when required. Mr Childs will also continue in his role as chief nurse and executive director of quality.
He started his career in Surrey in the mid-1980s, training as both a general and mental health nurse and has been a director of nursing at Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside Mental Health Trust.
He moved to Leicestershire from Manchester Mental Health and Social Care NHS Trust, where he established matrons’ posts at inpatient sites, and oversaw the strengthening of governance system and processes.
Dr Miller said: “I am very pleased that Adrian has accepted this position as we strive to deliver the best for patients in this challenging climate.
“We are both confident that we can increase its success and build on the strong foundations provided by the hard work of our staff.”
