Her father, Alan Wise, said Natasha desperately wanted help but claims she was failed by mental health services over an 18-month battle to get counselling.

She needed treatment. She was a very poorly girl and we begged them. Literally begged them.

Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust said:

The Trust would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere condolences to the family in these very sad circumstances.

Following this tragic incident we initiated an investigation into the care of Natasha to ensure any learning is identified and shared with those involved.

Our initial findings from the immediate review indicate that psychological services responded appropriately and flexibly to the referral in order to engage Natasha.

Our advice to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis is always to seek help and go to your General Practitioner (GP) or Accident and Emergency department at your local hospital. If you are a service user of the Trust your first point of contact should be your Care-Co-ordinator or outside of office hours to refer to the services listed in their Care Plan.
