“They tried to make me go to rehab,” she sang on her world-conquering 2006 single, “Rehab.” “I said ‘No, no no.'”

The musician, who is famous for songs such as ‘Rehab’ and ‘You Know That I’m No Good’, was pronounced dead at the scene, her flat at approximately 16:00hrs GMT Saturday 23rd July, 2011 in Camden. The death is “unexplained”  but not thought to be suspicious.

Inquiries continue into the circumstances of the death,” said police superintendent Raj Kohli.  “At this early stage, it is being treated as unexplained and there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.”

Recognisable worldwide from her trendy iconic ’60s makeup and high Buffon beehive hairstyle, Amy Winehouse was one of the most famous musicians of the 21st century, selling millions of albums, winning five Grammy Awards and starting a retro soul and jazz renaissance that has outlived her..

“We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer. Our prayers go out to Amy’s family, friends and fans at this difficult time,” said Winehouse’s record label, Universal.

The Recording Academy in Los Angeles praised the singer, who brought elements of jazz and Motown back into the musical mainstream for a new generation to love.

“Her rich, soulful and unique voice reflected her honest song writing and earned her a devoted fan following, critical acclaim, and the genuine respect and admiration of her musical peers,” said Neil Portnow, president of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS).

Her managers went to extreme lengths to keep the singer out of trouble. At one point at a concert stop in Europe, they booked Winehouse into a hotel and made sure that no alcohol would be on the premises during her stay – it did not work.

A series of YouTube videos began to appear showing Winehouse at her worst from drunken stupors to being booed off stage at her concerts. She is reported to have been diagnosed as suffering from bi-polar  disorder, fish oils with 90% EPA and no DHA do help and can stop the depressive side of bi polar,[see https://www.manchesterusersnetwork.org.uk/?p=1420 ]  but these oils are not available upon prescription. Most times patients refuse to take the prescribed medicines because of the dangerous side effects . One such drug named Olanzapine has been  banned in over 33 states of America due to it’s killer side effects, yet this medicine is still used in Britain?  They are not seen by many patients as helpful  medicine but as harmful controlling drugs.

Winehouse’s autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
