Man charged with murder after body found in supported mental health flats

A man has been charged with murder after a body was discovered in supported housing.

The body of a man in his 40s was discovered in the flats which belong to charity, Milestones Trust.

Police were called to the address in Knowle, Bristol on Thursday (July 7).

Jeffrey Barry, 55, was arrested in connection with the killing and will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on saturday morning (July 9) charged with murder.

Another man was also arrested over the death of the man, whose identity is as yet unknown.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “Formal identification of the deceased has not yet concluded.”

The house in Wells Road, which belongs to the Milestones Trust, is divided into flats which are used to house people with mental health conditions.

The Bristol Safeguarding Adults Board has confirmed that it is considering the need to launch a review into the incident.
